Picnics at Oswalds were a regular event for the Fripp and Dickson families.

A typical routine would be: Early morning fishing or ski-ing, then picnic on the beach and more ski-ing, fishing and swimming.
If a child managed to swim across the cove they would be rewarded with a silver lobster pick by Betty Fripp.   At 12.00 it was Cinzano - with ice, followed by a snooze for the oldies - Not to be disturbed by the children for at least an hour.   3.00 - Tennis at the Lynches - in whites.   6.30 - Drinks at one of the houses.

There were also early evening fishing trips followed by huge mackeral barbecues at the top of Mill House garden - outside the squash courts, where everyone was involved in three legged races and wheelbarrow races.

VIVIDEX - The boat shared and named after Viv and Rex Fripp and David Dickson.
