NOTE: This tree is a "work in progress". Many of the notes are incomplete and some links will not work correctly, especially when inside a Scrapbook. I still have much data to add and apologise to those contributors whose information has not yet been added. My sincere thanks to all.I have tried to verify as much information as possible but errors may exist or conflict with other sources. Individuals with uncertain details have a (See Notes) label attached to their name.
Any photos will be found in the individual's Scrapbook. Click the "ScrapBook" link in the left menu for a list. These allow only a limited amount of text so I will be adding feature pages containing more detailed notes, photos and links. These will appear at the right of the Scrapbook links. NOTE: The Main Menu (Top Left) will not work when you are in a scrapbook. You can use your browser's BACK button to exit or use the "Exit Scrapbook" link below or here.
Details and photos of individuals labelled as living are automatically excluded, however a separate list is available here for living people who have permitted or asked for their details to be published.

Robert Innes 5th Baron of Innermarkie, afterwards Sir Robert, who got a Charter under the great seal "Robert Innes de Innermarkie locum Adificia domos nomar i a horlos, qua olim adfrates minores burge de Elgin pertinuerunt &c" dated anno 1595. Also a Charter "tenarum de Lirkhill de Langbride in vicecom de Elgin et Forre s e um mansione praecentoris ecelesiae Cathedralia Moravelle &c" dated in the same year 1595. He afterwards acquired from Lord Ochiltrie the lands and Barony of Balvenie and got a Charter under the great seal, "Roberto Innes de Innermarkie tenarum do mi ny et baronia de Balveny &c." dated anno 1615 which last Barony became the chief title of his family and is instructed by another Charter under the great seal "Robert Innes de Balveny tenarura de Lochquley cum molendino carund et , molend ino de Peticassie &c." dated anno 1623. He was afterwards by King Charles I created a Baronet, or Knight, of Nova Scotia by the title of Sir Robert Innes of Balveny 12th February 1631. The following is an extract from "The Castles of Grampian and Angus" by Mike Salter, 1995: He was prosecuted in 1623 for carrying firearms and his son Walter was later charged with bragging and brawling. They got into debt and neighbours attacked their lands. Despite this, Robert held several posts in local administration, and was made a baronet in 1628, whilst in 1634, he and Walter were commissioned to apprehend rebels.To see more of Sir Robert's descendants visit the website above

Enlisted in the Scots Greys. The following is an extract from "The Castles of Grampian and Angus" by Mike Salter, 1995: Walter is thought to have been among the many Royalists killed in a battle lost to Leslie's Covenanters nearby in 1649. Montrose rested his men at Balvenie late in 1644.
