There is still much data to add and conflicts to settle. This tree has been compiled with the help of many contributors. Sincere thanks to all, and apologies to those whose information has not yet been added.
I have tried to verify as much information as possible but errors may exist. Individuals with uncertain details have a (see notes) label attached to their name.
If photos exist, they will be found in the individual's Scrapbook. Click the "ScrapBook" link in the left menu for a list. Scrapbooks can only contain a limited amount of text so I am now adding more presentable feature pages containing notes, photos and links. These pages are shown to the right of their Scrapbooks, but are presently very few. NOTE: The Main Menu (Top Left) will not work when you are in a scrapbook. You will have to use your browser's BACK button to exit or use the "Exit Scrapbook" link below or here.
Details and photos of individuals labelled as living are automatically filtered out of the Tree, however a separate list is available here for living people who have permitted or asked for their details to be published.

Probable Marriage: Dec 1841
CLAYTON Mark Halifax 22 141
HOOD Mary Elizabeth Halifax 22 141NOTE: There were two Mark Claytons baptised in Bradford in 1820; One to Mark & Mary, and another to Isaac & Martha. One of these appears to have married Mary Elizabeth Hood, in 1841. The other appears to have married Ada Clough in 1842.
It seems likely that Mark (son of Mark & Mary) is the person who married Mary Elizabeth Hood, as she was living two pages from Mark in the 1841 census, and in 1851 is still living in the same building or terrace (now named M Claytons Building, Birks Hall Lane). One of her children is Joseph Clayton, who was baptised (see LDS) in 1845, son of Mark & Mary Elizabeth Clayton.
HOWEVER, in 1851, Mark is living with his parents, married and aged 26 (should be 30/31). His probable wife, Mary Elizabeth Hood, is living in one of his father's houses with 4 children, but is shown as a widow. Perhaps he died the same day the census was taken.
In 1861 Mary Elizabeth is living in the same road as Mark & Ada Clayton. Mary is now a servant for the Denton brothers, whom she appears to have had a child by in 1871.
All very confusing, and presently unconfirmed which Mark married Mary or Ada. The other Mark is probably his cousin, son of Isaac & Martha. See his notes for further confusion.

CLAYTON Mark Halifax 22 141
HOOD Mary Elizabeth Halifax 22 141NOTE: It is not yet confirmed if Mary married Mark, son of Mark & Mary Clayton, or Mark, son of Isaac & Martha Clayton. Both were baptised in Bradford in 1820.
The former is most likely. HOWEVER, in 1851, he is living with his parents (who own this building), so why is she shown as a widow? The other Mark is in Horton, Bradford, with his wife, Ada.
In 1861 Mary is a servant for the Denton family, in the same road as Mark & Ada. And in 1871 we see that she appears to have had an illegitimate child with one of the Denton brothers.

LDS has father as Benjamin Holdsworth, but also has parents as Stephen Holdsworth & Ann Killen
Whitaker and Elizabeth are claimed, on the LDS website, to be the parents of Elizabeth Wright (husband of Joseph Holdsworth). However, other reports suggest her father was Thomas Wright.
Elizabeth (daughter of Thomas) was christened 1762 at St Peter's Cathedral, Sheffield, which is where she married Joseph Holdsworth. This would give some credibility to her father being Thomas, and also that their second son was named Thomas Holy Holdsworth.
Confirmation of either would be appreciated.
