MP for Boston 1878-1880
Thomas is a great grandson of William Garfit, who established the first bank of Boston, Lincolnshire, in 1754. Garfit's bank became known as Garfit, Claypon and Company twenty years later, when Bartholomew CLAYPON was taken into partnership.
The Bank, at 116 High Street, was the home of the Garfit family during the 18th and 19th centuries. In the 1850's, they also took over 114 High Street as 'Bank House'.
