NOTE: This is a TEMPORARY WEBSITE ONLY, and is meant as a stopgap until the Main Website has been updated. Some of the notes are incomplete and many of the links will not work. There is still much data to add and conflicts to settle. This tree has been compiled with the help of many contributors. Sincere thanks to all, and apologies to those whose information has not yet been added.
I have tried to verify as much information as possible but errors may exist. Individuals with uncertain details have a (see notes) label attached to their name.
If photos exist, they will be found in the individual's Scrapbook. Click the "ScrapBook" link in the left menu for a list. Scrapbooks can only contain a limited amount of text so I am now adding more presentable feature pages containing notes, photos and links. These pages are shown to the right of their Scrapbooks, but are presently very few. NOTE: The Main Menu (Top Left) will not work when you are in a scrapbook. You will have to use your browser's BACK button to exit or use the "Exit Scrapbook" link below or here.
Details and photos of individuals labelled as living are automatically filtered out of the Tree, however a separate list is available here for living people who have permitted or asked for their details to be published.
If you do find errors, conflicts or would like to update your line please let me know. Webmaster

Fern Colleen Bennett, 74, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Oshkosh with Pastor Ray Weinerman officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. CDT, Saturday, April 15, 2006, at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh with the family present. Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church in Oshkosh. Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh and Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown are in charge of arrangements.
Fern was born on February 22, 1932, in Gilman, Iowa, to Orville J. and Ida (Twedt) Winders. She grew up and received her early education in Gilman and Ferguson, Iowa. She then attended high school in Marshalltown, graduating in 1950.
On April 21, 1951, Fern married Richard G. Bennett in Carthage, Illinois and to this union two children were born, Denise and Curtis. They made their home in Marshalltown and she worked as an accountant for Montgomery Ward and later as a credit manager for Lenox Credit Union. During her time in Marshalltown, she was a part of the card club, P.T.A, and the National Guard Women’s Auxiliary.
In 1975, the family moved to Oshkosh, Nebraska, so Richard could manage the Marshalltown Instruments facility. Fern worked at the plant for a short time but devoted most of her time to being a homemaker, taking great pride in her grandchildren, cooking, and cleaning for the family.
She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family, especially Bridge, Hand and Foot, and Uno, but enjoyed any card game. Fern was also a member of the Birthday Club and Red Hat Club in Oshkosh. She also enjoyed golfing and reading. She will always be remembered for the kindness she gave to everyone.
Fern was survived by her husband, Richard "Dick" Bennett of Oshkosh; daughter, Denise and husband, Mark Hulse of Sugarland, Texas; son, Curtis Bennett of Marshalltown, Iowa; grandchildren, Eric Hulse of Sugarland, TX, Amber and husband Dannie Stanley of Muncie, IN, Cassandra and husband Pat Riley of Newton, Iowa; great-grandson, Elijah Stanley of Muncie, IN; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wendell, Carson, and Orville Winders; and sisters, Lillie Morton, Marguerite Dooley, Shirley Winders and an infant sister.
